How many people do your motorhomes sleep?

Both of our motorhomes sleep four people - our Pilote has two double beds and our Deffleths has one double bed and two singles.

How many people can travel in your motorhomes?

Both motorhomes have four travelling seatbelts. A maximum of four people can travel. This includes babies and there is no isofix car seat facility.

Do you provide bedding, towels, tea towels, etc?

We provide mattress protectors and fitted sheets. You will need to bring duvets, pillows, towels and tea towels.

What's included in the rental?

We supply everything for you to be able to self cater: a gas BBQ, outdoor table and chairs, various hoses/cables to power up motorhome on a site, gas bottles, event tent/awning - everything you need to enjoy your holiday. A detailed list can be found here.

Where do I collect the motorhome from?

You will collect the motorhome from Great Notley, Braintree, where we will carry out a comprehensive handover prior to your trip.

Can I park my car when I collect the motorhome?

Yes, you can park your car in the secured space where we store our motorhomes (£10 per day fee applies).

What time can I collect and return the motorhome?

Our standard collection time is 8-9am and return at 3pm, however we can be flexible. All we ask is that you let us know your plans, to ensure sufficient turnaround time before our next hire.

How do we book our trip?

Contact us with your enquiry, including dates and which motorhome you wish to hire. Once we have confirmed the dates you have requested are available, we will send you documentation for you to complete in full. Once we have received the completed forms and confirmed your eligibility for the rental, we will then ask for your deposit - after which point your rental is booked.

What happens once our booking has been agreed?

Once your booking has been agreed, we require a £250 deposit. The remainder of your payment must be made 6 weeks before your departure. If, at the time of booking, your trip is less than 6 weeks away, you must pay the full balance within 48 hours.

When do I pay my security deposit?

The £1,000 security deposit must be paid via bank transfer 48 hours prior to your collection, which will be returned in full within 3 working days of your return*. (*Dependent on no damage or loss of items supplied to you with the rental).

What if I need to cancel my booking?

All deposits are non-refundable. However, if cancelled due to extreme circumstances, deposits can be transferred to an alternative booking within 12 calendar months.

Do you have driver age restrictions?

You must be between the ages of 30 - 75 years of age to drive one of our vehicles. You also must have held a full UK driving licence for at least five years. However, please speak to us as our insurance company may look at individual cases.

Can more than one person drive the motorhome during the rental?

Yes, you can have up to 2 drivers as long as they meet our insurance company's criteria. There is a small charge of £50 per additional driver.

What if I have points on my driving licence?

To drive one of our vehicles, you must have no more than 3 speeding points within the last 5 years. However, please speak to us if you’re in doubt as our insurance company may grant exceptions (following submission of your details).

What if I have been banned from driving in the last five years?

Details will need to be provided and submitted to our insurance company for prior approval.

What if I have been involved in a fault or non-fault claim in the last five years?

Details will need to be provided and submitted to our insurance company for prior approval.

Will medical restrictions from the DVLA impact my driving eligibility?

Details will need to be provided and submitted to our insurance company for prior approval.

What if I damage the motorhome in any way?

We take a £1,000 security deposit prior to your trip. We will return your deposit in full within 3 working days should there be no damage or items missing. If you damage the vehicle in any way, this will be deducted from your security deposit and we will provide you with a copy of receipts/bills to replace or repair items. An inventory will be carried out in your presence to ensure there is no damage or missing items. Full details of this can be found in our Motorhome Returns Policy on request.

What if I break a cup, plate, etc?

Please advise us on your return of any breakages so we can replace items to ensure the next hirer has all the equipment they need for a lovely holiday.

Do you supply diesel?

When you collect the motorhome, it will have a full tank of diesel and we expect the vehicle to be returned with a full tank of diesel ready for the next customer.

How far can I travel?

Our mileage policy covers 100 miles of travel per day (a 50p per mile excess charge will be deducted from your security deposit) Miles will be checked at collection and return.

Do you supply gas?

Our vehicles have two gas bottles with an external filling point (included in your hire). They will be provided full and should you run out, we will show you how to refill. This will be at your expense. It is highly unlikely that you will use both gas bottles in a single hire.

What if I breakdown?

Our vehicles come with fully comprehensive insurance and full UK breakdown cover. Breakdown company contact details can be found in the user guide, supplied to you on departure.

What if I have an accident?

You must inform JSA Motorhomes as soon as possible, taking pictures and videos showing the incident and ensure you obtain all of the other drivers details and should the police be involved obtain an incident number.

What if I forget how something works?

We carry out a detailed handover prior to your departure, also providing a user guide to help jog your memory on all major components. However, if you can't find what you're looking for then we are available to answer your questions by phone or video chat.

Can I bring my dog?

We allow small dogs. All we ask is that you use blankets and baskets.

Can I take my bike(s)?

Our Pilote has a four-bike rack fitted.

Can I tow anything on the motorhome?

No. Our insurance company simply will not allow anything to be towed.

Am I able to use the motorhome away from a site?

You can use the motorhomes on or off site, wild camping for example.

Can I take the motorhome abroad?

Our motorhomes are insured for UK travel only.

Are you able to recommend sites or locations?

We have enjoyed extensive travel throughout the UK and will always be happy to recommend sites, travel routes or guidance to hirers, from our personal experience.
